A day in the life of ME

This week I told Jeremy I'm like FEMA. Emergency evacuation every morning to get the kids off to school; always a rush; always something nearly forgot. Last year we nearly forgot Ashton. (He HAD gotten in the car and thought his shoes were inside, but got back out when he discovered they were in the house. I didn't realize the got back out part until I was turning out of our cul de sac and saw neighbor Mara screaming at me to stop. I look in my mirror to see Ashton tearing down the street, yelling, after me. "Oh! I'm sorry," says Mara. "I didn't realize you MEANT to do that and was using this morning as a TEACHING moment." In climbs Ashton and away we go.)

And I'm poison control, though not lately, knock on wood. And I'm general disaster relief -- broken glass, missing toothbrush, bubbles in shinguard that preclude Ashton from leaving my lap at soccer, and too many more things to list.

But my consolation is Jeremy says I'm more competent than FEMA. Another week gone by.

BRANDY! Hey, it's so weird that I just got your e-mail with this link...that's my old email address so I rarely check it. My new one's shawnipothier at gmail dot com.

ANYWAY, I just heard from Marc & Shelley and Dave and I were just talking about DC people and he was asking about you and I told him I hadn't heard from you in a while. This just happeded approximately seven minutes before I got this email. Weird. I LOVE blogs for keeping in touch so I'm so excited you have one! I miss you guys! Loved to see how the kids are growing and I love to read how you write. You are awesome. I'll have to come back regularly...!
